An exquisitely detailed figure based on the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III.
From the world renowned manufacturer in France, Papo presents the Spinosaurus figure. This figure is sturdy enough to hold up to child's play, yet it bears all the detailed realism of a hundred-dollar sculpture. One of the most famous carnivorous dinosaurs, many of the first fossils discovered of this animal were destroyed by Allied bombers over Germany during the second World War. Fortunately, later specimens offered a better look at this theropod, which bears a distinctive crocodile-like skull filled with conical teeth, excellent for clamping and holding prey. The trademark sail on its back is seen in many species of dinosaur, and is believed to have functioned in thermoregulation. The figure is in mint condition, still in its original protective bag and signature display tags, and features an articulated jaw that can open and shut.
This figure is based on the sculpt of the Jurassic Park Spinosaurus, yet it looks far better than any of the original Jurassic Park toys. It bears a greenish-grey coloration, slightly modified from the mottled browns of the film version. Spinosaurus was the starring dinosaur in Jurassic Park 3, famously defeating a grown Tyrannosaurus in combat. The film's body count is also attributed mainly to the Spinosaurus; the carnivore is responsible for all but one of the fatalities to occur on screen.
