Michael Berglund crafted this extraordinarily detailed bust of "Stan", one of the most notorious specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. Working with the Black Hills Institute, Bergland built upon a high resolution 3D scan of the dinosaur's exceptionally fine fossil material. The reconstruction includes the actual injuries that Stan sustained during his violent lifetime, including pathologies and scars from likely intraspecific combat, and forward-facing ear holes as suggested by noted paleontologist Robert Bakker.
