The Kentrosaurus is distinguished by the larger Stegosaurus by the arrangement of dorsal spikes, rather than large plates. This suggests an array of defensive armaments, which would have protected the animal from predators such as Ceratosaurus and Allosaurus. The first Kentrosaurus figure from Safari was released in 2010. It had a greenish coloration, and won the "Figure of the Year Award" from Prehistoric Times magazine. This vibrant orange and blue repaint was released in 2023.
